Our Story
The Afghanistan Institute of Peace (AFGIP) was born from a simple yet powerful belief: lasting peace in Afghanistan must be built by Afghans themselves — through education, honest dialogue, and community reconciliation. Founded in 2025 amid ongoing challenges, AFGIP emerged as an independent, non-profit initiative dedicated to healing the wounds of conflict. We started with a clear mission: to empower the next generation of Afghan youth and peacebuilders by creating safe spaces for learning, discussion, and hope.
What began as small gatherings of young Afghans sharing their dreams for a peaceful future has grown into the Afghanistan Peace Initiative — now engaging over 300 peacebuilders across the country. We focus on practical peace education, inclusive dialogues that bridge divides, and grassroots programs that turn classrooms and communities into foundations for sustainable peace.
Our story is not one of outsiders bringing solutions. It is the story of Afghans coming together — elders and youth, men and women — to reclaim their right to a better tomorrow. Every workshop, every conversation, and every educated mind brings us closer to a Afghanistan where peace is not just wished for, but actively built from within.
Authencity
We are an Afghan-led initiative, rooted in local realities and driven by genuine Afghan voices. Our work is built on trust, cultural understanding, and a deep commitment to neutrality and inclusivity.
Real Engagement
We go beyond workshops and reports. We create meaningful dialogue spaces where Afghans from different backgrounds — youth, elders, women, and community leaders — actively participate in building peace from the ground up
Unique Stories
Every peacebuilder we support carries a powerful story of resilience. We amplify Afghan voices, document real journeys of transformation, and share stories that inspire hope and demonstrate that peace is possible through education and reconciliation
